Literacy

Ladder to Learning defines literacy as the ability to read, write and have acquired knowledge in a specific area. Ladder to Learning staff, volunteers and students are individuals that strive to increase their literacy skills with each new day.

Remedial Reading Program (RRP)

Identifies students that are struggling with reading at their expected/required level and assigns them tutors to help them learn how to read.

Mentorship Program

Run in partnership with It takes a Village, the program connects students with mentors from across the globe through a secure online platform. The mentors help the students with their reading skills and other academic subjects

Creativity & Innovation Programs

Creativity at Ladder to Learning is defined as the ability to generate original ideas and put them into practice. We place high value on growing creativity skills in our staff, volunteers, and students. We believe that it is the foundation to innovative problem-solving.

Literacy Hubs & Library Sessions

Literacy hubs are spaces that provide learning resource access to students. Resources include books, stationery, arts & crafts and ed-tech gadgets.

Impact:

45,000+ students currently have ready access to books and other learning resources from Literacy Hubs.

Digital Skills Training Program

Digital Skills Training familiarizes and teaches students, teachers and parents about 21st century technologies so that they are not left behind in a world that is becoming technologically advanced each day.

Leadership

At Ladder to Learning we define leadership as the ability to help ourselves and others to do the right things. We believe that successful schools and programs hinge on great leadership. We therefore strive to teach and grow leadership skills in our staff, volunteers, and students as the change agents in our communities.

Career Guidance & Motivation Sessions

The aim of the sessions is to motivate students to work hard and stay in school by giving them exposure to a variety of career paths they can pursue.
